WEATHER ALERT – U.S. Embassy Tegucigalpa, Honduras (August 20, 2020)
LOCATION: Border with Nicaragua to Punta Castilla, including the Bay Islands
EVENT: The Government of Honduras has issued a coastal alert informing there is a possibility of a tropical depression on the Honduran border with Nicaragua throughout western Honduras (to Punta Castilla) and affecting the Bay Islands by the early morning hours of Friday, August 21, 2020. Tropical Depression 14 could produce tropical storm force winds and heavy rainfall.
ACTIONS TO TAKE:
- Monitor local media for updates.
- Have travel documents up to date and easily accessible.
- Notify friends and family of your safety.
- Seek secure shelter.
