WEATHER ALERT – U.S. Embassy Tegucigalpa, Honduras (November 14, 2020)
LOCATION: Honduras
EVENT: Tropical Storm Iota is expected to continue strengthening as it approaches Honduras’ Caribbean coast.
The National Hurricane Center warns that dangerous winds, storm surge, and heavy rainfall are expected across portions of Central America. Expect heavy rains through Thursday, November 19, 2020, with possible landslides, flash flooding, power outages, and difficult travel conditions across the northern departments of Honduras.
The Government of Honduras has issued an evacuation order for the following communities:

- La Rosa
- Valle de Sula
- Corozal II
- Bordo Limones
- Las Montañitas

- Colonia Flores de Oriente
- Colonia Buen Samaritano
- Colonia San José
