WEATHER ALERT – U.S. Embassy Tegucigalpa, Honduras (September 2, 2020)

LOCATION: Honduras

EVENT: The Government of Honduras has issued a weather notice informing there is a possibility of a tropical storm affecting the Honduran territory by the early afternoon hours of Wednesday, September 2, 2020. American citizens in Honduras should monitor the progress of Tropical Storm Nana. As it approaches the coast of Honduras, Guatemala, and Belize, strong winds, dangerous storm surge, and heavy rainfall causing flash flooding are becoming more likely from Nana.

ACTIONS TO TAKE:

  • Monitor local media for updates.
  • Have travel documents up to date and easily accessible.
  • Prepare an emergency supply kit (ready.gov).
  • Notify friends and family of your safety.
  • Seek secure shelter.
