
The U.S. Embassy invited visual artist and cultural promoter from Puerto Rico, Marta Mabel Perez, to participate as a member of the jury for the 16th Sculpture and Ceramic Biennale of Central America and the Caribbean – IHCI 2015 and to conduct workshops to art students and the local community of local artists.
During her visit, artist Marta Mabel Perez will give lectures on her work as well as a series of workshops sharing her ample experience and techniques acquired throughout her career of 15 years.

Currently is the manager of PROA -The Artist Assistance Program at the Museo de Arte de Puerto Rico, where she has conceptualized and developed more than 50 workshops and seminars for professional visual artists in Puerto Rico as well as in Latin America and the Caribbean. She has also directed and organized institutional awards and cultural events. With a career spanning just over 15 years in the field of museology and museum, Marta Mabel Perez has worked in the registry and inventory of the National Collection of the Institute of Puerto Rican Culture, coordinator of programming and development, as well as curator at the Museum of San Juan. As a professional artist, she earned the Presidential Scholarship from the University of Puerto Rico to study art and architecture at American University, Washington, DC. Subsequently, she was granted a scholarship by the Mexican government for master’s studies at the National Autonomous University of Mexico, achieving the Academic Excellence Award.
