Emergency Contact Information for U.S. Citizens

For life or death emergencies, dial 911 for immediate assistance.

In the event of an emergency involving a U.S. citizen in Honduras, you can reach the U.S. Embassy during normal business hours and after hours, seven days a week.

Emergencies Include:

  1. Arrest of a U.S. Citizen
  2. Death of a U.S. Citizen
  3. Serious illness or injury
  4. Children’s issues and child abductions
  5. Victims of Crimes

If the emergency is not listed above, please email us at usahonduras@state.gov. This email inbox is continuously monitored from 7:30 am until 4:00 pm Monday through Friday, except for U.S. and Honduran holidays.  You can also call us at (504) 2236-9320.

Routine services such as passport renewals, reports of birth abroad, and notarials are not considered emergencies and are processed during regular business hours.
