The U.S. Embassy is scheduling a limited number of appointments for U.S. passports, Consular Report of Birth Abroad (CRBA), and notary services. The Embassy continues to provide expedited consular services, also by appointment, including the replacement of lost/stolen passports for U.S. citizen visitors, and passport issuance for U.S. citizens with imminent travel for emergency purposes, such as medical emergencies.

Emergency passports for citizens with immediate, emergency travel plans to the U.S. remain available.  Emergency travel includes:

  1. Illness of the traveler and need for medical treatment in the U.S.
  2. Grave illness or death of an immediate family member in the U.S.
  3. For U.S. citizen tourists in Honduras – imminent scheduled return travel to the U.S. after a passport has been lost or stolen. (Note: this option does not apply to U.S. citizens residing in Honduras)
  4. If your travel falls under one of these categories, please contact us at usahonduras@state.gov to schedule your emergency appointment.
  5. Please note that planned vacation travel does not qualify as an emergency, even if your ticket has already been purchased.
