TEGUCIGALPA – Today is the International Day to End Impunity for Crimes Against Journalists. In the United States, in Honduras, and around the world, we must all work together to protect the right to peacefully exercise freedom of expression. Journalists and media professionals are a vital part of civil society and play a key role in any healthy democracy.
It is critical that we stop allowing violence and threats against these important members of our society; that we end impunity; and that those who commit such acts are brought to justice.
