
TEGUCIGALPA – Ambassador James Nealon and Mr. Scott Nathan, the U.S. Department of State’s Special Representative for Commercial and Business Affairs, attended a meeting of the Alliance for Prosperity in the Northern Triangle in Tela on Thursday. The meeting marked an opportunity for leaders from Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador to discuss their Plan for the Alliance for Prosperity in the Northern Triangle with Central American business leaders and seek opportunities for partnership in the futures.
Mr. Nathan addressed the audience of business leaders from the region, expressing his enthusiasm to continue to conversation with the governments who are pledging action and the members of the private sector who are ready to contribute. “Working together, the private sector and government can promote and facilitate greater trade and integration, strengthen regional cooperation, develop a more efficient and sustainable energy system, reduce poverty, provide more training opportunities, and improve the prospects of business development,” Mr. Nathan remarked. “The United States is excited to partner with the region’s governments, businesses and people to create a safe, well-governed and economically prosperous region.”
