The U.S. Embassy in Honduras informs U.S. citizens the Government of Honduras issued a red alert for the Francisco Morazan, Valle, and Choluteca Departments due to heavy rains. Flooding and landslides are imminent on all major roads. Furthermore, the Goascoran River on the border between Honduras and El Salvador has overflowed. Unnecessary movements should be restricted. Monitor local news and stay alert for future notifications.
