The U.S. Embassy in Honduras has lifted its order for personnel in the Department of Cortes to shelter in place. The December 3 Travel Alert, which advises U.S. citizens to postpone or cancel unnecessary travel to mainland Honduras, remains in effect through December 31, 2017.
U.S. citizen visitors or residents already in Honduras are encouraged to remain cautious and check with their airline to confirm the operating status of airports before attempting to travel.
