SOTO CANO AIR BASE, Honduras – Approximately 50 U.S. service members from Joint Task Force-Bravo (JTF-Bravo), located at Soto Cano Air Base near Comayagua, Honduras, and under the U.S. Southern Command (USSOUTHCOM), will support the deployment of the USNS Comfort (T-AH 20) from 31 October to 5 November. The ship’s deployment is part of Continuing Promise 2022 (CP 2022).
In turn, CP 2022 is an element of USSOUTHCOM’s Enduring Promise initiative. The initiative reflects the United States’ enduring promise of friendship, partnership, and solidarity with the people of the Americas. The USNS Comfort will provide direct medical and veterinary care, conduct training and subject matter expert exchanges, on medical and humanitarian / disaster relief topics, and lead seminars on Women, Peace, and Security (WPS).
JTF-Bravo will complement this effort with additional medical health engagements in Corinto, Tegucigalpita, and Omoa near Puerto Cortes. Further, JTF-B will perform veterinary services and surgical operations in San Pedro Sula.
