EVENT: National Curfew Continues, Commercial Flights Still Available

National Curfew Extended

The Government of Honduras extended the curfew until Sunday, June 14 at 11:00 p.m. Under the order, circulation for shopping and essential activities is restricted based on national identity or passport number.

The National Police announced that businesses in authorized sectors will be open Monday through Friday. Shopping and essential activities will be allowed from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. according to the last digit of an individual’s national identity card or passport number for non-Honduran citizens.

The elderly, women who are pregnant, and individuals with disabilities will be able to exclusively access grocery stores and pharmacies from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and banks from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on the day which corresponds to the last number on their identification.

All U.S. citizens are strongly encouraged to respect the curfew and minimize trips out of their home. It is mandatory to use face masks, sanitary gel, and social distancing in public.

Upcoming Commercial Flights

The U.S. Embassy has worked with U.S. commercial airlines and the Government of Honduras to secure the following upcoming commercial flights. The U.S. Embassy will continue to seek commercial flights for U.S. citizens requesting to leave Honduras. The U.S. Embassy cannot guarantee the continued availability of commercial flights.

Who can fly on these flights?

  • United States Citizens
  • Legal Permanent Residents of the United States
  • Immigrant visa packet holders
  • Unaccompanied Minors (in accordance with airline policies).

Non-immigrant visa holders should contact the airline regarding their eligibility to travel.

The State Department has advised all U.S. citizens living or traveling abroad to arrange for immediate return to the United States unless they are prepared to remain outside the United States for an indefinite period.

Please let the U.S. Embassy know you are returning to the United States, so we may update our records.

We encourage all U.S. citizens who chose to remain in Honduras to follow curfew rules set out by the government of Honduras.
