EVENT: Available Flight Options to the United States from Honduras
The March 19, 2020 Global Level 4 Health Advisory issued by the Department of State advises U.S. citizens to avoid all international travel due to the global impact of COVID-19. U.S. citizens who live in the United States should arrange for immediate return to the United States, unless they are prepared to remain abroad for an indefinite period.
As of March 25, 2020, there are commercial flights available from Honduras to the United States on United Airlines and American Airlines, but there is no guarantee these flights will continue beyond currently scheduled flights. If you plan to return to the United States, please make arrangements to do so now.
If you are already on the U.S. Embassy’s list for potential U.S. government-coordinated flights and receive a call from Embassy staff about seats available, please be prepared to make a decision immediately. Individuals evacuated on a U.S. government-coordinated transport, including charter and military flights, must sign an Evacuee Manifest and Promissory Note (Form DS-5528) prior to departure. - U.S. citizens who are present in Honduras should enroll in the Department of State’s Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP). Enrollment in STEP enables the American Citizen Services unit in Tegucigalpa to reach out directly to U.S. citizens in need of assistance. STEP also allows U.S. citizens to receive Alerts to convey information about terrorist threats, security incidents, planned demonstrations, natural disasters, etc.
