TEGUCIGALPA – On November 7, 2015, Public Affairs Officer Eric Turner was the keynote speaker at a graduation ceremony for 68 students of the English Access Microscholarship Program at the Instituto Hondureno de Cultura Interamericana (IHCI) in Comayaguela, M.D.C. This was the third cohort of Access students graduating from IHCI. At the ceremony, 68 students in the fifth cohort received their certificate of award and will graduate in October 2016.
The program provides two years of English language instruction to talented 13 to 20 year olds from disadvantaged communities. Students have the opportunity to learn about American culture, democratic values and improve their chances to participate in other U.S. educational and exchange programs. Each graduating and incoming student received a diploma signed by U.S. Ambassador James Nealon.
