Good morning to all present!
Let’s be honest, no one really wants to talk about a morgue.
So, why is the US Government here today?
Because we want to help many families who, in the past, had to face the difficult task of traveling to Tegucigalpa during already challenging times.
General Deputy Attorney Daniel Sibrián;
Director of Forensic Medicine Ismael Raudales;
Mayor Quintín Soriano;
And every person who has contributed to the development of this vital project.
It is an honor to be surrounded by visionary individuals as committed as all of you.
I’m proud to be here, witnessing the beginning of the fifth regional morgue in Honduras. And in a city as crucial as Choluteca, this step was not only necessary but indispensable.
Criminal investigation and forensic sciences are cornerstones of justice and with this new morgue, Choluteca will be better equipped to face the challenges that arise. This construction represents progress in forensic investigation.
I am filled with joy by this type of collaboration, where different actors like the municipality, the Public Ministry, and the Forensic Medicine Directorate converge. Such collaborations reflect the power of unity and Honduras’ determination to improve every day.
Likewise, I am proud that the United States government, through INL, has been a key player in this effort, providing materials and equipment.
I want to emphasize that what you are building goes beyond four walls. It represents our shared faith in a better tomorrow, where every citizen has access to quality services and where unnecessary sacrifices don’t have to be made in the name of justice.
In conclusion, I want to reiterate the importance of continuing to work hand in hand. Strengthening infrastructure and services, and always prioritizing citizens.
By working together, you are setting a great example not only for Choluteca but for all of Honduras!
And I hope to attend the inauguration of the new building in the near future.
Thank you very much!
