Event: From December 16, 2021, the Honduran Agency for Civil Aeronautics will cease many international flights to Toncontin International Airport (TGU) in Tegucigalpa, in conjunction with the opening of Palmerola International Airport (XPL) in Comayagua. Domestic and international flights to and from Toncontin International Airport (TGU) may be affected or canceled. Please consult with your airline to verify changes to flights you have previously booked arriving to or departing from Toncontin International Airport (TGU).
Actions to Take:
- Check your email for any flight notifications or messages from your airline regarding any changes to your upcoming flight.
- Visit your airline’s website for further information, updates, or to check your reservation and itinerary.
- Consider confirming with your airline if you suspect your upcoming flight’s departure airport has changed from Toncontin International Airport (TGU) to Palmerola International Airport (XPL).
The U.S. Embassy in Tegucigalpa is unable to provide you assistance with rescheduling your flight should it be affected by this change.
